Open Farm Day will be held on Sunday, July 28th from 10 am - 2 pm. The event will be held rain or shine with ample space inside our new barn!
We hope you'll join us for a farmer-led tour, held at 10:15 AM, 11:15 AM and 12:15 PM. Led by one of the farmers, the tours will include stops to see our chickens (laying hens and meat chickens), cows, goats, and sheep. Farmer led tours will be 45 - 60 minutes in length.
You can also take a self-guided tour through the farm’s shady, wooded trails. There will be informational signage to help you learn about how we farm too!
Our farm includes uneven surfaces and varied terrain, please dress accordingly. If you are coming from, or have visited other farms, please clean your boots prior to arrival. To tour the farm with children, please plan to carry them as the paths are not well-suited to strollers.
Visitors will get to 'meet' the animals (including our livestock guardian dogs Ida and Monty). There will be activities for children including coloring and an egg hunt. Our pop-up farm store will be open and in addition to our selection of eggs, beef, chicken, and specialty products; we'll have our entire inventory of sheepskins on sale at 15% off!
As part of Bowdoinham's own Open Farm & Studio Day we'll be hosting several local artists and artisans including Janna DeWan Pottery, Just Playing With Glass, Zachary Fields Ceramics, and Harts Way Designs. There will be unique and gorgeous art for purchase and there will also be wheel-throwing demonstrations and hands-on opportunities with clay!
