About the Process
Sheepskins are harvested from our animals at the same time as their meat. Transforming the pelts into sheepskins is a great way to keep them out of the waste stream and honors every part of the animals we raise. Our hides are salted, scraped, and prepared for tanning at the farm and then mailed to Vermont for tanning, trimming and washing. 

Vermont Natural Sheepskins uses an all-natural, bark tanning method that is 100% non-toxic and eco-friendly. Processed by hand, these durable, one of a kind sheepskins are meant to last a lifetime.

Each sheepskin is unique to the breed, age of sheep, and the tanning process.
